Abstrak English, as a universal language, is crucial for global communication and access to knowledge. However, the speaking skills of students at Athirah Bone Islamic High School remain weak due to limited vocabulary, pronunciation issues, and low motivation. Although activities such as English Day are held, students tend to be unwilling to practice. This study aimed to examine the implementation of the Snake Ladder Game in improving students’ speaking skills at the eleventh grade of SMAS Islam Athirah Bone. The research used a pre-experimental design with one group pre-test and post-test. A speaking test covering pronunciation, grammar, vocabulary, fluency, and comprehension was used as the research instrument. The data were analyzed by comparing students’ pre-test and post-test scores. The results showed an improvement in students’ speaking skills after the implementation of the Snake Ladder Game. The mean score increased from 13.68 (54.72%) in the pre-test to 14.84 (59.36%) in the post-test. Although the N-Gain score (0.10) was categorized as low, students showed positive progress, especially in pronunciation, vocabulary, and comprehension. The game also helped increase students’ confidence and participation in speaking activities. In conclusion, the Snake Ladder Game can be considered an effective supplementary strategy to support students’ speaking skill development by creating a fun and interactive learning environment.
