In English language learning, speaking proficiency is one of the four essential
components that must be mastered. Speaking is the ability to convey information,
messages, and ideas to others orally. However, many students at SMA Islam Athirah
Bone still face difficulties in speaking, particularly in English. This study aims to
examine the effectiveness of the Pair Work technique in improving the English
speaking skills of eleventh-grade students at SMA Islam Athirah Bone. The method
employed involved the implementation of the Pair Work technique through six
stages of intensive mentoring. As a result of this activity, students were able to
improve their pronunciation, grammar, vocabulary, fluency, and comprehension in
English speaking. The success of this program is evidenced by the evaluation of
pre-test and post-test scores, which showed a measurable increase in student
competence at the end of the sessions. |
